New House Pics!

I promised some new house pics and here they are! I've done a lot of decorating, mainly painted. Just keep in mind when you look at these that all the walls were white before. I have mostly just done the downstairs. And I plan to do more with it too, but am taking a break for now. Enjoy!

Exterior, this is an old shot when they weren't quite finished with the grass, but it is what the house looks like!
Ok, so when you come in there is a front room to your right. This is what it looks like so far. The couches were old and ugly so I covered them. The bigger one just has a throw over it, but the love seat I did more of a reupholstery on it. I re-did all the pillows too. Those little dark wood chests on the floor are from Colombia.

I did that painting myself.
this is in the hall opposite the front room. a nice little bench to sit and take your shoes off.
Straight down the hall is the dining room, which opens up the the living room on the left and the kitchen on the right
Close up on the flower stencil. I hand made the actual stencil for this

Living room. I'd love to have a nice, new big sectional, but our current couch works for now.

Dining Room into the Kitchen

Kitchen pics. I painted and did the tile work on the backsplash.

And here's the stairs leading up stairs. I painted the stripes. I might change them later.
This is part of the half bath downstairs. Its hard to get a good pic of the whole room because its so small. The theme was WWII Navy. I always wanted a Colbalt blue bath!

Cool poster I picked up at the Army-Navy Store

This is something else I did and its in the small hallway that leads to the half bath.

Well, hope you like them! It been alot of work, but its not done yet!

Orlando 2010

I haven't written a blog in soo long. Well here is something semi-interesting: Our trip to Orlando!(including outings to all Disney World parks and Universal Studios!) It was fun but very exhausting. We had a great time even though it rained alot and Seth got sick and I got in a stupid fight with some French lady( I admit it was stupid and pointless, but sometimes your nerves get a little ragged, even on vacation). So sorry French lady,I should have apologized and let it go. But lets get to the fun stuff!

In front of Cinderella's Castle at Disney World Magic Kingdom. Its pretty much the same as Disney Land, 'cept the Castle is a heckofalot bigger. And the teacups were closed for renovation, my favorite ride! I was disappointed about that.

We took a day to go exploring at Universal Studios. We rode this massive rollercoaster called the Hulk. We rode in the front row and I guess my hair was pretty crazy after we got off it. Shame we didn't get a pic of that.

With Captain America, yo! I got a pic with him just so my nephews could see it and think that I'm even cooler now.
One of the reasons we went to Universal Studios is because I really wanted to go to the new Harry Potter theme park. Its not very big, its just a small part within the park, but it was still awesome! Here we are enjoying some ButterBeer. It's like cream soda but more carmelly and with extra cream stuff on top. So yummy!

Hogwarts Castle. It has a cool ride inside. We waited 45 mins for that, the longest wait of the whole trip. Most rides we went to at Disney World and here were 5-10 mins, not bad!
Looking around the Harry Potter village. They also had a rollercoaster here called the Dueling Dragons. Its one of those where your feet hang free.

With Hogwarts students!

Back at Disney World we played around Epcot and met Minnie Mouse. It was a day that rained alot, you can see that my shirt is wet. One of the cool things about Disney World is there is characters out every where! I think you see them alot more than at Disney Land.
The famous Epcot ball thing.
Caught a showing of Captain EO
Played around with some Astronaut helmets. They have this Mission Space Ride that is really cool and simulates a shuttle launch and landing on Mars.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom we had a fun time. There was this Safari around the animal refuge, with all these cool African animals, lots of walking trails with more animals and birds, a petting zoo (as pictured above), rides (Expedition Everest is awesome), a cute dinosaur themed part, and Finding Nemo: the musical (so cute!). I think it was my favorite park out of all the Disney ones and think thats the only reason I would go back. Hollywood Studios was cool, but it's where I got into the fight with the french lady, Seth was sick, and the Fantasmic show got rained out so we didn't get to see it.

Some of the cool animals we saw on the safari. It was so cool to see them up close!

This Gorilla was on one of the walking trails.

Oh, and the Turkey Leg! gotta have one of those if you go the Disney World!

So thats all I have for now. I've been busy with the new house. I've been decorating alot and have done tons of painting. New pics will come soon!

Colombia Trip

We recently went to Colombia to have a family vacation and visit my parents before my Dad retires. Everyone except Peter came and stayed for a week, while I stayed for 2 weeks. So did Ben, who had minor surgery down there. We had a lot of fun hanging out together!

The adults went out and had some traditional Colombia cuisine at an old colonial house-turned restaurant in Bogota. Austin kept ordering fruit drinks they never brought it to him!

We went up to Monserate, a monastery that overlooks the city. It was a pretty steep gondola ride to the top.

We went out to a more tropical region for a few days and stayed with my parents friends. Cute newlyweds!
Having some poolside fun!
I was trying to shield my eyes because it was so bright. My Mom thought it looked like I was saluting. I was trying not to go blind!
We went out for ice cream one night and had some sundaes with fresh fruit. They put shredded mozzarella cheese on top. It was a little strange.
Look at this monster yawn I caught Luke doing. He was so tired from a day of swimming and running around.
Coming back, we bought some roadside pineapple.
The Buseta gave up on us on the way back to Bogota. We were stuck in a small town for about 4 hours. We stuck out quite a bit, to say the least.

We went to this cool zoo with lots of tropical animals here is me and Seth in front of the tiger cage.

Seth in his usual form. ooo, ooo!

We stopped at a roadside restaurant that had arepas, platinos, lots of different grilled meat and potatoes. We shared a big ol' platter of everything.

With Antonio, our driver and the coolest Colombian I know!

Group photo! There was a really nice view from here.
