For the love of LOST!

So, anyone who knows me, knows I am a big fan of Lost. I always liked the concept of being trapped on a deserted island, only this is far more interesting than anything I could have dreamed of. But it's on hiatus...again...why do they tease us so? At least it's back in April this time istead of waiting for 8 months. So to all you die hard Lost fans out there, here's some websites to tide you over.

I think this dude has got most of it figured out. its a great thoery on time travel and how Ben set a time machine made by DHARMA in a loop to keep the island hidden in time. Thus by pushing the button in the hatch every 108 minutes, it reset the time machine and kept the island hidden. Anyway, its a way interesting theory.

NEW COUCH!!

We finally got a new couch! Which mean I can decorate more. Good-bye ugly (but in all fairness in good condition and free) hotel-lobyish couches! Hello, sweet microfiber wonder! I'm glad we found a good home for our old ones, though. Thanks Mom Riggs!

And here is some of the fruits of our painting labor. Though I did do those stripes all by myself. It makes the entryway more impressive.

Valentines Decor

I love to make crafty- type things, especially holiday decor. This is a valentines day centerpiece I made last year. I still have them, but have yet to get them out. I've been really busy the last couple of weeks, so hopefully I can get them out by v-day this week.

those are fresh flowers, I really don't like fake ones to much.

Colombian Christmas Vacay

We had a great two weeks in Colombia for our Christmas vacation. Here are some pics to highlight the trip.

We had lunch at our friends, the Lopezes, finca. A finca is like a farm or place in the country most people who can afford it have. My parents had a finca until they moved out of the city. Here is Seth looking very Colombian with that straw hat and drinking Colombiana, our favorite Colombian soda(it literally means a Colombian person, like if we had a drink here called "American")

After the Finca, my dad took Seth and I to a town called Villa de Leva. Its an old Spanish colonial town with cobble stone roads and traditional colonial style houses. The hotel we stayed in used to be a house and they all have these open plazas in the middle of the house.

We visited a monastery on a hill above Villa de Leva. Spanish monks built it, and since it was on a sight where there was a prehistoric sea, built into the floors and walls and alters are all these fossils of prehistoric sea creatures and shells.

This is an archaeological sight the natives built long ago and the Spanish called "infernito", which means little hell. It was believed to be built for fertility rituals, so you can probably guess what those stone pillars represent. There were a lot of small and big stone pillars here.

We went out with our friends, the Irragoris to a restaurant called Andres Carne de Res (Andres' Beef). Its a pretty crazy restaurant with stuff all over every surface. The owner, Andres, collects a lot of things and displays them in the restaurant. There are also actors who dress up and go all around the place. There is always a " mailman" you can give notes to and he will deliver them to people at other tables. Mae and I enjoying ourselves.
My nephew Zach was in heaven. He had to look at everything. There was even a separate kids place in the back that had craft activities, face painting, a playground, snack bar and even a scaled down bathroom just for kids.
Here are some of the actors wandering around. Since it was the Christmas season, the theme was the Nativity. These are the Virgin Marys, all dressed up different and funky. There were also shepherds, and people dressed up like barn animals that would come up and "BAA!" at you.

This is Christmas morning and the only decent picture we could get of the boys together. I look great.

We took this 11-passenger bus on loan from my Dad's school everywhere. It was quite funny being all packed in a vehicle that said Escolar on it. This is in a region called Los Llanos, or the plains. It is pretty tropical. We stayed with friends The Marins at their vacation homes in a complex down there. We ended up getting sunburned at the pool. group photo with Alexandra Marin and her kids.

Zach always had to come and push you in the hammock. It was quite nice, actually.
We went horse riding in Los Llanos and saw little monkeys in the palm trees. Here you can see how much Zach liked sitting on the horse. Jose Luis Marin thinks its funny.
The Marins had these Parrots that talked. One sang Ave Maria, while another one laughed hysterically. It was quite entertaining.
One of our last days we went fishing on my dads pond on their property. I think Mae looks good in those boots.

My Dad and Peter caught three trout. With a little reservation on Seth's and my part, we ate them for dinner.

Fall Hike

Last weekend, Seth and I went on a hike up in Provo Canyon. I had been wanting to go on a hike ever since fall arrived so i could see the pretty fall leaves. I finally had a chance to, but no leaves were left and it was all gray. Oh, well, it's still nice to be out in nature...

Halloween!

Halloween was pretty fun this year. I made my own costume, like I usually do. Seth's was pretty much just thrown together, but he needed one for work.

GO BYU (football that is)!!

Last Saturday, Seth and I went to the BYU-Air Force game. Our friends, Mitch and Cheryl had free tickets, so we all went and had a good time- even when it started raining. We toughed it out, though and I got some pics..
