Halfway through...

I am at 20 weeks and halfway through my pregnancy. I can't believe it! I had my ultrasound last Thursday and found out we are having a boy! I'm so excited, but really nervous too.

Colorado!

Seth and I took a trip this weekend to Colorado with his family. We stayed in a cabin, went 4- wheelin', took a ride in a paddle boat, explored Mesa Verde National Park, played with the nieces and nephews, and generally had a great time. Here are some pics, we only got a couple from Mesa Verde.

2011 WA trip

Seth and I decided to take a trip to Washington this summer to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. We were married in Spokane 5 years ago! Crazy how time flies! Anyway, we started out by staying in the same hotel we did in Spokane on our wedding night, a nice little downtown place.

We decided to go out to dinner and picked this place out of the restaraunt guide that decribed the food as "Euro-Asian fusion". Sounded interesting so we thought we'd give it a try. I got the chicken risotto. Here's me before I tasted it. It was so gross! Just bland and no flavor at all! I sent it back which is something I never do, it was that unappealing. I was not paying a fancy restaurant price for that! I got meatloaf instead and it was good. Seth and I thought it would also be a hip place, but it turns out that we shared the restaurant with a bunch of people our parent's age. I think we were the only ones in there without gray hair. The sad thing was we were still really tired from our trip and they were alot livelier than we were...

...but we worked up some energy and hung around Riverfront Park later that night...

The next day we visited the Spokane Temple where we were married and did a session. I'd forgotten just how small that temple is compared to the ones in Utah.

We did a few things while staying with my parents at their house in Colville. One day we drove up to Canada (not too far) and went to Grand Forks and ate borscht at a Russian restaurant. It was really good and there were even these old men sitting behind us speaking Russian. We also went to the aquatic center there that I went to as a kid alot. It still looked the same!

While there we indulged in some country pursuits, including huckleberry picking...

Seth even helped mow my dad's field with the tractor. Doesn't he look cute?

Well, the week went by fast. We also ate at Ronnie D's and Zips, swam at my parents beach, and went to the drive in movie. It was fun, but Seth had to get back to work, so I stayed for a few more weeks because my sister was coming up. Here are some of the things I did with my family.

We went on a drive one day, searching for a new huckleberry patch, but ended up going to this lake I'd never been to before. It was a pretty little lake that looked perfect for kayaking or canoeing.

The next week we did end up finding a pretty decent huckleberry patch. Austin and Annalee had a great time their first huckleberry excursion.

We went to the beach quite often. It's nice that my parent have a little private beach on their property. Here's Kyla waiting in the truck to go drive down. There is even a creek that runs into the river and Dad caught a nice trout for dinner one night!

While I was there, we also got to hang out with out cousins. Sad I didn't get any pics of that. We had a family party one night and played a Kubb tournament, which is an outdoor game with wooden blocks. It was fun, but the best part was the Divis boys getting beat in the final game! They are really competitive, so I bet there will be a rematch sometime in the future. My cousin Carly was on the winning team and it was a victory for all the girls in the family. Go Carly!

So I am home again. It was nice to have a Washington summer. I picked raspberries, made raspberry jam, found huckleberries (the family obsession), hung out with cousins and went swimming at the river. What more could you ask for?

Baby's First Pic!

So here is a pic of my very first pregnancy ultrasound. I love my lil' nugget! The doctor said everything looks good and is right on track. It's very reassuring to know that something is in there, and all these pregnancy symptoms are for something good. It was really exciting to hear the heartbeat as well!

Big Announcement!!

Seth and I have some awesome news! We're expecting(a baby that is)! We have been going through infertility issues for a few years now and were finally able to concieve through IUI. We are very excited and since most everyone we are close to has been aware of what we've been going through, we decided to tell people right away! I've been writing mainly on that blog, so that's why I haven't written so much on here. So here is me, starting out at 4 weeks. Seth said I was glowing already, what a sweetie! I've been feeling fairly well, just some fatigue but no sickness yet.

Oh, and for a different type of "belly shot", this is Seth surfing on the Flowrider in Ogden. It's an artificial wave, and was one of the things we did on Memorial Day (Well, I didn't do the flowrider, just Seth). It was a fun day!

Junk Pile

I've been in the habit of looking in thrift stores for a while, and occasionally, I bring things home. Like on saturday I brought home a $3 frame( fits perfectly around my half bath mirrior!) and an old ammuntions box for $8 I found at DI. My husband tolarates it pretty well, but doesn't understand my foundness for old things. "Just don't turn into a hoarder", he says. The thing is, I see something old an see it's potential, and sometimes I just plain think it looks cool. I have a few things in the garage, one of them being and old carved door I got from my parent's rental property in Vernal. Well, today the pile has grown exponetially! My husband will probably be like " what is all this junk?" when he gets home. Here's the story of my fast growing junk pile. This morning I got a call from my brother Peter. I had been helping him with making a short film last month, and one of the locations was this old warehouse in SLC. This warehouse is full of junk, but there are lots of cool things in it within the piles of garbage. Like hundreds of vintage bed frames. I thought it would be fun to look through things and see if I could find anything, but was so worn out from working that I didn't get a chance. And I wasn't sure if the owner would just let us take things, either. Little did I know that part of the deal for filming there was to clean up some of the rooms. Peter had actually gotten some guys to do it, but they bailled on him, so I ended up helping him. After clearing out a bunch of garbage, and I mean trash!, I ended up unearthing some things I liked, and since Peter had his Jeep, we loaded it up when we left. Here is what is sitting in my garage right now:

Among the score: A piano bench, a small slab of granite, an old wooden ironing board, the back of a vintage chair, a small shelf unit, 2 mirrors, a couple of old windows (one with an ugly christmas scene painted on it, but I can remove that), garden fencing, a lampshade and a huge old birdcage.
And I found these cool boxes I can use for planters! So excited about these!Oh, and thats an old boat oar I found in the background.

So here's to junk! I would have taken even more if I could fit it! I'm actually going to go back for an green window paned door, so maybe I might find something else I like there too!

That 70s Chair Challenge

I've been meaning to post pictures of my chair makeover for a couple of weeks and finally got around to it. So here is my latest decorating project! It took about 3 days to finish, and I pretty much learned how to do it while I was doing it, but I really enjoyed it!
